LELAND PUBLIC SCHOOL

CALENDARS

AND ATTENDANCE POLICIES

Attendance Expectations

The purpose of Leland Public School’s attendance policy is to maintain academic standards for academic progress. Research shows a direct correlation between attendance and academic progress. Students are expected to be in school and in class every day. Daily attendance at school is the responsibility of the student and their parents/guardians. In most cases, what goes on in the classroom cannot be duplicated elsewhere and constitutes a valid and crucial part of coursework. When any student is absent, the educational experience of all students in the class is diminished. Regular attendance helps develop responsibility, self-discipline, and prepares students for success beyond school. A full day of attendance is required to attend or participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities. More details can be found in our Student Handbook.

Below, see some basics on our Attendance Policies.
