Test Out
In alignment with the Michigan Revised School Code (MCL 380.1279b and MCL 380.1278a), Leland Public School offers high school students the opportunity to test out of any course offered by the district.
Students opting to test out must demonstrate mastery of the course content by earning a grade of 78% (C+) or higher on the cumulative test or course assessment. Upon successful completion, the student will receive credit for the course noted as "TO" on their transcript. Credits earned through testing out satisfy graduation and prerequisite course sequence requirements but are not calculated into the student's grade point average (GPA).
Testing Details & Guidelines:
-
Testing Windows: Test-out exams are generally offered in person at Leland Public School twice per year (typically in May and July).
-
Attempt Limits: Students may only attempt to test out of a specific course once.
-
