The Principal's Update

Dear LPS families,
Happy Friday! It was another beautiful week here in Leland, and October continues to wow us with fall weather. As we approach the mid-point of October, please mark your calendars for half days October 28, 29, and 30 for Parent-Teacher Conferences K-12. We will send sign-ups for these conferences next week!

This weekend we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day. On Monday, our Elementary students will visit the Leland Library to take part in local Indigenous Peoples' Day events. We are honored to recognize the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians as Leland students gather to see the Dusty Bear Singers and Tribal Community Dancers.

Remember, we also have no school Wednesday next week, 10/14.

Have a great weekend, and feel free to reach out with any questions,

From the PTO

The PTO is for everyone. You don't have to sign up, pay dues or commit to volunteering. If you have a student at Leland Public School, you’re already part of our PTO community.
Our annual Impact Fund is simply an invitation to contribute if you’re able. Together, these donations fund the things that make our school community stronger- from staff appreciation and family events to classroom support and helping students with the things they need.
Every contribution matters. Every family is welcome. And together, we can make a big impact.
To contribute, drop a check in the office (made out to Leland PTO) or send your donation via Venmo (@Leland-PTO)

Did you know that the PTO hosts a Student Directory? It's available to LPS families on the PTO platform PTBoard. To add your family information, head over to PTBoard here, and log in or make an account. You can "Claim" your student and add as much or as little contact information as you'd like.
A big thank you to everyone who came out for the PTO's Fall Parent Social. Good times, great community, and amazing eats were had. We have to give an extra shout out to our amazing sponsors (Cherry Bay Orchards, Dam Candy Store, Goodness on Main, Stowe Farm Pediatrics, and Van's Garage) for their support in putting on this event, and especially to The Cove for hosting us in the perfect cozy spot with the best views and an insane spread!
